A friend of mine shared this quote with me and it has stuck ever since and I wanted to share it with you! The author is unknown.
"The most precious jewels you'll ever have around your neck are the arms of children."
We would be fibbing if we didn't say that we didn't like a piece of jewelry to dress up an outfit, but I would go without the sparkles if I had to choose between a shiny necklace or hug around my neck! I teach adults every day and they don't tend to give out hugs like the toddler or preschool children I use to work with. Thank goodness, my two school age children still provide me with the jewelry I need...well that is along as it isn't at school!!
Stephanie, what a great quote! I experienced this just today when I was out on the playground! Unfortunately, it's been raining in Kansas, so our playground is very muddy, and my great big hug deliverer was covered in mud! Even though the delivery was a little messy it still made my day! Hope you are having a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteStephanie!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, this is a great one. I have childcare all day and into the evening on Fridays (and only on Fridays!) and work very hard all day long to finish all of my work for various jobs and now for my Master's work. I miss my kids so much, but everything hard just disappears when I come down the stairs and they run into my arms and throw their sweet little arms around my neck! It is a joy and a gift beyond words! Certainly better than any jewels I can think of!
Thanks for sharing!
